| Favorite movies | As a frustrated film director/cinematographer, (meaning @ age 40 I decided not to change careers) I have far too many to list. But I will attempt the Top 20: (not in order of importance) - just top 20 films I would take w/me while planning to be stranded on an island - IF they had a DVD player!!!) in alphabetical order... Amadeus, A River Runs Through It, Avalon, Blade Runner, Chariots of Fire, Dinner Rush, Gettysburg, Great Outdoors, Hero (Chinese Film - Jet Li), Invincible, Jesus of Nazareth, Last of The Mohicans, Legend of Baggar Vance, Lord of the Rings: Return of the King, O Brother Where Art Thou, Planes Trains & Automobiles, The Natural, The Passion of the Christ, The Outlaw Josey Wales, Unforgiven. (in almost every case, the music plays a huge role in the film and how I experience it). |
| Favorite music | I have no favorite genre of music. I listen to great music from almost every genre/era: Classical, Electronic, Folk, Contemporary Jazz, Pop, New Age (I detest this label given to contemporary music that fits this category), Rock, Rythym & Blues, Movie Soundtracks, & Western (no, NOT Country!!!) |
| Favorite books | Again, far too many to list to do justice, but here are the top 10, again IF I am planning to be stranded far from civilization: The Bible, My Utmost For His Highest by Oswald Chambers, A Year With C.S. Lewis, The Collected Writings of John Murray, 1776, Thoughts On Solitude by Thomas Merton, Maine by Eliot Porter, Walden by Thoreau, What Was I Thinking: Things I've Learned Since I Knew It All, & lastly the journal I take along with me. |
