| Introduction | The craft of storytelling is my search for meaning. Telling stories is fuelled by a heartfelt intention to cultivate authenticity beyond words, "yet words and images help shape and embody subtle realms of mind and convey truths we learn to realise." My intention is to unlock an inner sense especially in the lives of children, young people, their parents and educators. I hold an MCGI from City 7 Guilds for Education Leadership based on my narrative thesis "Manifesting Self Through Creative Expression" supported by 25 years of cultural entrepreneurship and series of first-ever projects and the creative production and exploration in a number of domains: writing, television production, Theatre-in-Education, acting... Along the way, I learn through autodidactism and apprenticeships. It is the direct experience that most inspires and illuminates my offerings. I acknowledge the endless sources of information and inspiration which flow through diverse expressions. |
| Interests | Joanne’s work is based on years of creative production and exploration in a number of fields. She is always honing a natural ability to balance her attention between unlimited, open-ended potential, and one-pointed, productive focus. Along the way, she learns through direct experience and acknowledges there have been endless sources of information, and above all, the supreme source of inspiration that flows through diverse expressions. |
| Favorite movies | Sally's Way, Rabbit Proof Fence, Lion, Shakespeare in Love, The Book Thief, |
| Favorite music | 3 Canal, (most RAPSO over soca any day), Sheela Chandra ( most Eastern chants), Heather Nova, Kobo Town, love current pop music but it has to be complex enough with poetic lyrics and a catchy hook: "You're cooler than the flip side of my pillow" is surely one of the greatest contemporary lines ever. |
| Favorite books | The Bible, What The Twilight Says, Essays by Derek Walcott, Sabine and Griffin trilogy by Nick Bantock, The Artist's Way by Julian Cameron, Women who Run with the Wolves - whatever fiction has engrossed me to the end. I like what I like when I like it. |
