IntroductionJudy and I live in a parent lab. Along with many parents, we are learning what it means to parent as God would have us. Twelve years ago, at age 40, with daughter Jessica turning 18 and having just written 'Family to Family -- Leaving a Lasting Legacy' with Jerry Pipes, we realized we were only beginning to have some idea how God would have us lead our family. So we started over, intent on impacting the 163-million-plus homeless children in the world. We've had 21 more kids -- and Jessica has given us 5 grandchildren! Judy is in the process of becoming a certified NANC (www.nanc.org) counselor. I am a veteran journalist who turned to ministry at 36. I have written two books and several hundred magazine and web articles. I have a journalism degree from the University of Tennesssee and an M.Div. from Southeastern Baptist Theological Seminary. Our ‘at home’ family is two 16-year-old girls, and an 13-year-old son. We have a 22-year old son, also, and are praying God gives us a particular boy (12) from an orphanage in Ukraine. Join us on the journey. Teach us what you know. Let's grow as parents together.
