| Introduction | Hello! My name is Miriam Owens. In 2000, my youngest child was born. Almost immediately, it was obvious that she was unique in many ways. The next several weeks and months revealed that she did,in fact, have developmental delays. She was eventually disagnosed with PDD-NOS, which is a form of autism. Fast forward to today. It has been a very long faith journey, but my daughter no longer carries the PDD-NOS diagnosis! Hallelujah! Sure, there are still challenges, but the Lord is always faithful to see us through them. I want to share our journey with you and hope that you'll share yours with me! I've written a book of social illustrations for children and young adults with autism or other developmental delays entitled "Writes of Passage: Social Illustrations to Illuminate the Paths of Individuals with Autism and Other Develpomental Disorders". I hope that each of you will have an opportunity to read and enjoy it. Be encouraged! |
