About me

IntroductionI've been in customer analytics for many years, working with online and offline businesses, in the US and in Europe. I’ve had the honor to work with companies including Amazon, eBay (plus a host of smaller ecommerce companies) and many of the world’s leading brands on website analytics, segmentation, personalization and customer analytics projects. I started my career as a practicing marketer, blending creativity with a ‘geek streak’ flair for numbers, measuring what worked and what didn’t. I believe that many of the marketing techniques pioneered in the offline world can provide important lessons for the online challenges today. In particular it is increasingly obvious that leveraging what we know about online customer behavior is one of the single most effective ways of increasing performance and ROI in marketing and website programs. Harnessing the synergies between online and offline communications is work in progress for most organizations – and fertile ground for re-defining what we consider to be normal conversion performance.
