| Introduction | I'm in my second term as a member of the Madison (WI) Board of Education. I ran for election in 2006 and re-election in 2009 because I believe that we have work to do if we are going to preserve the tradition of strong public education in Madison, WI. I still believe that is true, and continue to work for change in the following areas: high quality curriculum,using resources to address priority needs, and including members of all Madison communities in our decision making. I believe that our schools are good, and that we have some excellent teachers and administrators. I also believe that our schools can and must be even better if we are going to prepare all of our students for the future. The opinions expressed in this blog are mine alone and should not be taken as a statement on behalf of other board members or the board as a whole.
