| Introduction | I am a fledgling writer fumbling about with several blogs and a pillow book and a travel memoir and the first draft of my first novel, an excerpt of which recently won 3rd in the 2009 PEN/Nob Hill Soul-making Literary Contest. When I'm not writing in circles or wrestling with the devils and dervishes of my fictional world, I read like there's no tomorrow, do battle with the running bamboo behind my house, cook with calculated abandon, travel when I can, work when there's work to do, help when help's needed, and spend time with my family. I am a licensed acupuncturist and teach and practise acupuncture and Chinese medicine. |
