Introduction	I share my life with my teenage son, an amazingly supportive spouse, and our ancient, crotchety guinea pig. I have a frightening propensity to burst into nonsensical songs, find absolutely everything funny and nothing sacred, and on the rare occasion I emerge from in front of the computer, I can be found with my nose buried in a book or knitting something, usually socks. I was diagnosed with breast cancer on October 18, 2011; I was 44 years old. While I am much more than "just" a breast cancer patient, I have this need to talk about it and not drive everyone around me nuts.

Favorite movies	Princess Bride, Matrix (only the first one - the others sucked), August Rush, Michael
Favorite music	I like lots of different music that's not rap or country. Or Opera. That makes my ears bleed.
Favorite books	The Dresden Files, Codex Alera, Lord of the Rings, Barbara Hambly's "Darwath" series, "Dragonriders of Pern" series, Harry Potter (all of them); I'm game for most fantasy and sci-fi
