| Introduction | I live and work in Colorado Springs, Colorado. I enjoy cycling - mostly long distance or endurance cycling. In Colorado I mostly ride with Rocky Mountain Cycling Club (RMCC). It was a real adventure to complete all miles of the Elite Southern Transcontinental PAC Tour in June 2007 (the subject of this blog). I also enjoy participating in RUSA sanctioned 1,200 km randoneuring events such as Paris-Brest-Paris (2003 and soon 2007), Boston-Montreal-Boston (2004), the Cascade 1,200 (2006) put on by the Seattle International Randonneurs, and the Colorado Last Chance (2006). Another favorite ride is the Colorado Border-to-Border 1,200 MILE 8-day tour through the Colorado mountains spending one night in Wyoming and one night in New Mexico. It has approximately 80,000 feet of elevation gain and averages 150 miles a day, with four days being about 180 miles and the shortest day being 100 miles. I've led the ride three times under sponsorship of Colorado Heartcycle. Future runnings of the tour are pretty much up to me. Future sponsorship is TBD. |
