| Introduction | I thought I would start a blog as an aid to my two sons, as they start their journey in developing an investment portfolio. If other people find this of any help, interest or have comments, then you are most welcome, its purpose is educational only. I have sub-divided the approach into three areas: Passive investing, Growth Investing, and Income Investing. The blog is entitled “Seeking Value”, for that is what is sought under each area. I do not subscribe to the thought that value investing is a separate approach. Which reminds me of a quote from Warren Buffett in his 2000 Letter to Shareholders: “…Market commentators and investment managers who glibly refer to "growth" and "value" styles as contrasting approaches to investment are displaying their ignorance, not their sophistication. Growth is simply a component usually a plus, sometimes a minus in the value equation…” |
