| Introduction | I am a Speech-Language Pathologist, a Fellow of the American Speech Language Hearing Association, currently serving as a Director at a neuroscience company, Scientific Learning Corporation. I am also an Adjunct Associate Professor at Northwestern University where I currently teach courses in Traumatic Brain Injury and Right Hemisphere Dysfunction. I have published two books, a test and many scientific journal articles. I currently lecture around the world on neuroscience applications to education and clinical intervention for children and adults with communication/cognitive disorders. But my greatest accomplishment is that I am the parent of three bright, accomplished adults. I am also quite fortunate to be married to the remarkably supportive, Jim Burns, who has served as a constructive critic and my greatest source of professional encouragement for over 42 years. |
