| Introduction | I graduated from the University of Mississippi with a bachelors Degree in Art Education and have enjoyed teaching art in Duval County since 1987. I have been the art teacher at Chets Creek since it's opening in January of 1997. Currently, I hold the position of President (07-09)of the local Duval Art Teacher's Association and a member of both the Florida Art Education Association and the National Art Education Association. Personally, I love to work with a variety of media, including clay, colored pencil, acrylic and oil paints. I have produced several murals at Chets Creek and around Jacksonville in private residences, churches, and businesses. As an artist, it has been exciting to experience the wonderful creativity of our students each year. Being able to watch them work through the creative process allows me to see the growth of critical thinking skills and problem solving skills, needed for success in the workplace. Thank you for allowing me this time with your student. I value every minute. |
