About me

Location Stevensville, Montana, United States
Introduction I have a passion for creating fiber art and expressing my love of color and texture in my art is more fun and more satisfying than I ever believed possible. Most of my life and education was not connected to art until I moved back to Montana and was gradually influenced and encouraged by my mom who has been a fiber artist for many years. Her experience in and enthusiasm for the medium got me interested, then hooked, now passionate! I found myself staying home with a young son in school so I delved more deeply into creating art quilts and found that I loved designing, selecting materials, creating, and sharing my work. The dense, elaborate quilting that I once pooh-poohed as “overdone” is now something I enjoy and find challenging and rewarding. I express feeling and mood through intricate stitching lines and patterns. The stitch, along with any embellishments, become integral elements of the artwork. People sometimes find it difficult to identify with abstract art, but they seem to be able to connect with my work in an intimate way. That is satisfying and has led to some success in selling my work.
