| Introduction | UN Capital Development Fund (UNCDF) inclusive finance programmes are designed to address these kinds of gaps in the financial sectors of the countries where we work. Established in September 2010, YouthStart is an example of the innovative programmes UNCDF is launching in an intensified effort to reach young men and women who will be -- or already are -- invested in local economies. Investing in young people and in youth inclusive financial services can provide a long-lasting and effective dividend toward meeting the MDGs, particularly the goal of reducing poverty by half by 2015. UNCDF will work with providers to design and deliver programmes and services tailored to the needs of younger people. |
