Introduction I grew up exploring the prairies, hills and rivers of Central Kansas. Always interested in the plant and animal species I "discovered" but didn't know, I'd take various field guides in my backpack to help in identification. When I turned 11 my parents purchased a telescope for me and my love for astronomy began. My original major at Kansas State University was Biology, but graduated with a degree in Business. However, my love for the outdoors became a focus of outside activities. Activities include: past president of the Kansas Herpetological Society, volunteer instructor - Powell Observatory for 15 years, Co-Chair - Heart of America Star Party, member - Astronomical Society of Kansas City, Missouri Prairie Foundation, Kansas Audubon Society, Burroughs Audubon Society, Friends of the Overland Park Arboretum and test writer - Science Olympiad.
