| Introduction | My theme is Hopes in times of despair. When often humans are confronted with horrifying and desperate moments, people regain energy through the ray of hope they see. The art works below connect with a theme of people finding hope in extremely difficult situations. Saleh, who lost his arms during Iraq war, still finds hope as he goes through a number of surgeries in U.S. and regains the desire to live. Puccini's opera La Boheme, also depicts the hope and love among financially poor artists. Giotto draws attention to the crowd after the death of Christ. Even though Christ is dead, through the expression of those surrounding him, Giotto implies that these people are waiting for hope. |
