| Interests | My name is André Sanche and I am currently one of the Chefs as well as the Branding Manager for Epicuria Fine Foods. I am the person who puts together all the food you will pick up in the freezer section as well as some select chutneys and sauces. Growing up with a Large French Canadian family that loved food was my first experience with it. My grand-parents owned a small farm where we grew a lot of our food and even erected 3 greenhouses in different places throughout their property. We would grow tomatoes, cucumbers, carrots, cabbage and zucchinis the size of a medium sized dog just to name a few. I kid you not, they would grow that big. When I think back to the moments that made me want to be involved in food the way I am, I think of summer nights and the entire family sitting in the greenhouse patio. We would have picked 2-3 zucchini from the garden, my grandmother and grandfather would have stuffed them full with fresh ground meat, vegetables and rice, baked them in the oven and we would feast. Our entire family, there could have been over 20 people at a time, would pile around the table, eat great home made meals, drink plenty of wine and beer and rejoice in the fact that we had this time to spend together. Knowing that certain lifestyles may not permit for this type of “preparation” for meals is what drove me to work with Epicuria to provide Take-Home Meals. I believe that if people are able to do away with the preparation of the meal, they may be more inclined to spend that extra time together around a dinner table. |
