Introduction Learned today that building a self-serve car wash + vacuum station above a neighborhood duck pond is a really bad idea even when three dumpsters are available. I also learned that it’s the best spring ever experienced in North Texas. It's tropical. With softly falling raindrops, tepid temperatures, beautiful flowers and purple sunset. And since April when COVID-19 "shelter in place" orders were given, I've had more time that ever to enjoy these things. Way more than I enjoyed being a pawn broker, a short-order cook, selling cosmetics door to door and writing news stories. I retired from writing community news and features, over 15 years ago. During that time I wrote for at least four newspapers starting in Texas then Washington and back to Texas. My plan was to throw away the pen for good, until I met Jose and Cora (see Two Artists on a Beach). To get their story out I started this blog. Today I'm meeting so many more wonderful people and experiencing so much joy in this world that sometimes I just have to tell my stories.
Interests Nature walks, Ocean getaways, Books, Thinking, wine, thinking about wine, creating driftwood art, thinking about writing, giving new life to discarded items, teaching new songs to my grandchildren, learning new songs from my grandchilden. I love clean air and wonder why as a people, we don't take the limit fossil fuel production and extraction. COVID 19 has given us a once in a lifetime glance at how quickly we would see results if we only cared to save the planet and ourselves. This list goes on and on.
Favorite Movies Shirley Valentine (I have allowed myself to lead this little life, when inside me there was so much more. And it's all gone unused. And now it never will be), Unstrung Heroes (People - they get trapped in their own history unless someone shows them a way out)., The Usual Suspects (How Do You Shoot The Devil In The Back), Beat the Devil (The only thing standing between you and a watery grave is your wits, and that's not my idea of adequate protection)., Whale Rider (Man might carve his mark on the earth, but unless he's vigilant, Nature will take it all back)... this list goes on
Favorite Music Can't think of any that I don't care for . Although some rap just leaves me wondering WT....?
