| Introduction | I am 67 years old, but am constantly astonished that the person I see in the mirror could have gotten to this age. Inside, I am about 12, I fear. I love this life, love the beauty of the world, love the bees and flowers in my garden, adore my friends and children. However, contemplating the world scene fills me with grief. To allay that, my husband is the joy of my life. He was born in Lincolnshire, England, the same year as I. We have been married 8+ years and live in a house that is approx. 150 years old-- the original portion was built as the rectory for the Anglican church across the street, then added to over the years, morphing from rectory to boarding house to single family status. We have 5 fireplaces, three on the main floor, one on the top floor and one in the basement. We use the 3 on the main floor. The one on the top floor is in our daughter, Jenny's bedroom, and since she is 11, no fire would dare to appear in that area. Jenny is Peter's, along with Meara, who is 17, and Charles, 13. I have Kelly, 48, Lisa, 30, and Laurie, 27. You will note the age disparity here. Sperm is long-lived. |
