Introduction I am a writer, journalist, online story producer, book reviewer, copy editor, proofreader, MC, high school English tutor, and grammar pedant. I won the Henry Lawson Short Story Competition with my story 'Why Don't Elephants Smoke?' in 2012, which was also included in Australian Award Winning Writing 2012 published by Melbourne Books. I have short-listed several times in the past year and my story 'Returning the Bird' has recently been chosen for the 2014 New Asian Writing anthology. I continue to write short stories while working on an historical fiction novel and a Master of Arts in Writing, Editing and Publishing at the University of Queensland.
