| Introduction | Why this blog? To make available some techniques and information singular to my career that others may find useful or interesting. For that purpose, here is a bit of background. I am a retired (2018) B. S. degreed chemist (1972 Pennsylvania State University) with forty-five years experience in the petroleum industry as a Chief Chemist, Product Supervisor, Senior Research Scientist and Laboratory Technician. The areas of primary expertise are sulfonates, emulsions, metalworking fluids, experimental design, FTIR, statistics, quality and computer programming applied to engine oil additives, metalworking fluids and crop herbicides. I have several patents, published papers and awards. I am currently a member of the Roger Bacon Research Society and the APC Forum. |
