Why does the taste of pennies remind you of losing a tooth?
Because blood in your mouth tastes like copper, which is involved with the making of pennies. That, or you had a traumatic experience as a child that involved a platypus bunny shoving pennies in your mouth after he took your tooth. It was his first day on the job, and the tooth-fairy was paying him by commission. He's very sorry.
