| Introduction | In no particular order: Bathed and prayed in the Ganges River, which Hindus believe will release you from the cycle of reincarnation, swam in it's ice cold waters at Rishikesh where it rushed down from the Himalayas. I drank Mekong whiskey with the headman of a Hmong village and dined from the plate of a saint in a temple hidden in an Indian jungle. I chanted with saddhus in remote Indian villages and road through the Kyhber Pass on the roof rack of a truck. I road a shepherd's donkey in the cotton fields outside a small Iranian village. Helped young Buddhist monks practice their English at a temple in Thailand. I made wonderful friends in Ubud, Bali and spent a week trekking alone in the Himalayas. There has been so much more in between....now living in the hills of N. KY with my wife on a beautiful 23 acres in a house hand built from an 1860s barn. I stay busy with my 2 children aged 11 & 10 while my 21 yr old attends college in St. Louis. If the Hindus are right and that swim in the Ganges releases me from the cycle of rebirth...I'd choose to come back and do it all again..if I'm lucky it will be a great adventure...and I'll find my true love all over again. |
