| Introduction | My grandmother was the first person I ever saw boil a set of jars and set them aside for months to come. I didn't start doing it myself until my mother-in-law died and I felt the need to continue the tradition. I've been making jelly for about a year now, and my strawberry jelly won Best in Show at the largest county fair in the state of Virginia in 2010 -- the first time I'd entered, with a jar from the first batch I ever made. Beginner's luck or natural gift? Time will tell! |
