Introduction	I am an artist/writer living in a semi-rural community north of New York City. Most of my entries will explore themes from art history or examine the work of contemporary artists (at times my own oeuvre), but I will occasionally address music, literature and my own personal perspective and history. It is inevitable that any discussion of art will reference established artists and their output, but I also hope to bring to the attention of a larger audience the work of lesser known or essentially unknown artists. Most importantly, I desire to write about art in plain, understandable language without engaging in romantic flights of fancy, cerebral acrobatics or intellectual showmanship. I believe there is a critical need for serious, coherent art criticism, and this blog should serve as a resource for both the inexperienced layman and the informed professional.
