Introduction In the fall of 1998, Lions Hot Rods bought out Strand Components, in order to continue to produce Strand Components outstanding Lakes Modified, and '27 T roadster. Our natural progression of building and driving T's, began with Jim purchasing a Ford Duplicators body in 1967 while a sophomore in high school. His tools at the time consisted of a Sears tool set, and a hand powered hack saw. Under the guidance of Chicago area car builders such as Cotton Werksman, Bob Knaack, Lee Nieman, Jerry Derengowski, and Gene and Rob Lawrence, Jim began building his first T. The early years saw the fabrication of a number of T's and numerous road miles to events such as The 1st Street Rod Nationals in Peoria '70, The 1st Popular Hot Rodding Nationals, The 1st Street Rodder Magazine Nationals, and many other local and national events, traveling mostly in T's. In other words we've always built and driven T's, we haven't just jumped on the bandwagon!
