| Introduction | The grass is always greener on the other side of the fence. But, my spiritual peace has everything to do with recognizing that my grass is every bit as green. People’s lives go up and down, without it we would be stagnant, but we can also turn the worst times into our best. My awakening began in 1993; A drowning alcoholic and drug addict on the verge of death, my only hope-turning to a spiritual force I didn’t understand. Opening to that spiritual awakening made me the person I am today. 23 years later I’ve grown into a Shaman and Reiki Practitioner whose life is guided by a mix of theologies, philosophies, and psychological influences. Bad times still happen. Since 1993 I’ve contracted a debilitating autoimmune disease; a 13-year relationship ended; and most devastating, I lost my youngest daughter who left behind a son. Here’s the green-I have the joy of raising my grandson. My eldest daughter and family are awesome! My health is more manageable. Being single has taught strength. And, amidst all of my life events, I remain sober. These are only a few things I have to be grateful for. I hope in visiting “I See the Green Grass” you will find the grateful too. |
