| Introduction | Namaste! Purana are text in Sanskrit containing mythological account of ancient times. These are considered as a part of Smriti texts which means it is remembered by an individual. It has been written and passed on. Spirituality is a difficult subject which is not understood by most people, puranas make it easy for them. The Shrimad Bhagvat is one of the most influential ‘Puranas’. The Bhagvat includes many stories well known in Hindu tradition, including the various avatars of Vishnu and the life of Krishna. Shrimad Bhagvat Puran was written by rishi Ved Vyas in sanskrit. It is believed that Shukha Mahamuni (Son of Ved Vyas) narrated Bhagvat Purana during sarpayaag performed by King Parikshit. So what you will read in these posts is Shukha mahamuni narrating puran to the king Parikshit. Here I have compiled and composed the Bhagvat making it easier for people to read it. My aim of starting this blog was to make this sacred information easily available and reader friendly. |
