| Introduction | Hi Y'all. . .for those who are venturing onto the blog and don't already know me, my name is Shawn South-Aswad and I live in Thompsons Station, TN. My husband and I built our dream home out of a silo, hence my studio name, "Silo Studios". I'm a self taught artist that loves to dabble in absolutely everything. But I focus on the fun whimsical art and salvage furniture that I sell at my monthly shows. Everything for me is about COLOR COLOR COLOR. . .I just can't get enough color in my world!!! Patrick and I have two amazing boys that are now teenagers and totally growing up before our eyes. My studio animals keep me company though. Sherlock, Hoot, and Tallulah, Billabong and Finn are forevers. . .but there is always a foster or two hanging out and stepping in paint. Lilly the cat only comes down to visit occasionally at night. . .she sticks to the upstairs since the puppies got here. I must admit. . .this is the second time that I've tried to start a blog. . .and I plan on sticking to it this time and not letting it overwhelm me. . .we'll see how it goes!!! |

| Favorite music | all genres, but right now I'm digging Brandi Carlisle, Landon Pigg, M. Ward, as well as Kanye West. . .go figure! |
| Favorite books | Anything with Vampires, any southern fiction, and all animal stories whether they make me laugh or cry. I've really been enjoying reading young adult fiction . . .it's different than all the other silly love stories. Got totally hooked on the Twilight series. |
Unlike a dog, how can a turtle ever be naked?
A turtle can be just as naked as the rest of us, like when he is stranded in the middle of the road with cars swarming all around him and he can't move fast enough to get the hell out of the way. . .and then a car stops a stranger gets out and picks him up and takes him to where he thinks he wants to go. . .I bet he feels pretty naked then.
