Introduction	I am a junior journalism student at Ohio University. This blog is part of a project in my online journalism class. Having adopted three pets, I realize that I have given them a second chance at life. These loving animals are often overlooked though when families are looking to buy a pet. Now with many overpopulated shelters closing nationwide (including the Athens County Humane Society), these healthy animals are being euthanized. Animal shelters are important, but without the help of the community, our furry friends will soon have no place to call home.
