| Introduction | Prof. Ishwari Prasad has written. (A retired Prof. from JNU) Pushpraj was born in mother’s village and brought up at father’s place in Bihar. After being a youngster he also became a traveler and he is known as a nomad or a nomadic journalist. Be it the bloodshed of the Tata group in Kalinganagar (Orissa), public emergence against coca cola in Plachimadda (Kerala) or ruining the tribals & farmers of the Narmada valley in the name of development, Pushpraj has always registered his experiences by him “seen as it is” in journalism. Prabhat Khabar had once started publishing his Reportaz in series which was further carried on by Jansatta. His reports focusing on the condition of the ‘‘Musahar’s” and the 2007 flood were published in Hindustan and became popular. ”Mau jail mein saat din” (seven days in Mau jail) which was published in ‘Hans’ in 2002 and the Reportaz on returning from the dense areas of Naxal Movement, was published in Jansatta prove his separate identity. In the upcoming months, penguin will publish the “Nandigram diary” a creation of Pushpraj (Hindi and English) will prove to be a rare document of poverty, people’s movement and the cry of agro India. |
