Introduction	"Today we are going to make Mother's Day Cards in Sunday School," teacher Michelle told the class. "Payton, what is something that your mom loves to do?" With no hesitation Payton proudly blurted, "My mom hunts!" The class snickered and giggled at the thought of a mom hunting but to Payton that is what she knew her mom loved to do. I am that mom who passionately hunts big game. I am not the "typical mom" as my children are discovering. I can't braid hair but I can gut a deer. I can't play the piano but I do play the drums. I hear the word bow and I think archery not a hair accessory and when my children refuse to get up, I take the opportunity to practice my elk bugling down the hall.I am no Jane Clever! Hunting is not something I do but it is part of who I am. It is in the mountains, when every sense is on high alert and every distraction is turned to the off position, where in the silence, the Holy Spirit can speak loud and clear. This blog is dedicated to documenting the stories, the lessons, the trials and the triumphs of my life as a Jesus follower, a pastor's wife, a mother of two incredible kids, and as a mom who hunts.
