| Introduction | I am a graduate student at the College of William & Mary. Two and a half years down and one more to go. My wife is a full-time mom to our two daughters. That means a very tight budget and an intense education in how to do more with less. The experience has especially been a switch from our life five years ago, when we both had well-paying jobs, no kids, and lots of disposable income. The Provident PhD is a blog with observations and tips. It’s geared to those in situations similar to ours, but discovering ways to save money is clearly a universal pursuit. You might say we decided to test the axiom that money doesn’t bring happiness. The result? Very little money and we’re still happy :). |
