| Introduction | My name is Danelle Nutter and I have been teaching art for many years. Recently, I added STEAM classes to my Visual Arts curriculum. This role has allowed me to continue learning as an educator while doing what I love which is all things that are CREATIVE! Teaching STEM undoubtedly makes Art class more meaningful and impactful. Art connects the higher part of ourselves with the world around us, and contrary to belief, it isn't just about making a product. It is learning to think critically, solve problems, make informed judgments, work cooperatively in groups, appreciate different cultures, as well as being creative. All of which, are necessary skills to be successful in education as well as life. This blog was created during the height of the Covid pandemic and was one way that I kept a connection with my students virtually.
