| Introduction | My name is Joananne "Jolie" Jenkins (J.J. for short) and I am President and CEO of a company called American Folk and Fabric, Inc (www.americanfolkandfabric.com). I grew up in Hollywood, attended Hollywood High School and began my career working as a costume designer in Hollywood. I have had several loves in my life, but none as fulfilling and enduring as my love of vintage and antique fine fabrics. At the age of 12, I was befriended by an Italian couple-a seamstress and her tailor husband. I spent countless hour in their vintage fabric-filled attic, followed by afternoons of tea and ladyfingers while hearing glorious stories about the romantic beauty and historical wonders of Italy. Those early lessons in fabric, sewing and design forever changed my life and formed the foundation for the woman that I am today. |
