| Introduction | My name is Matthew Otter and I am 23 years of age. I joined the Three Peak Challenge team after one guy couldn't make it. Great thing about working for a council is there is always another twit around; and I, was that twit! I jumped at the chance to climb the three highest peaks in the UK; within 24 hours, possibly in the cold, wet, windy conditions with no sleep and all for Queen and Country. I mean, wouldn't you jump at the chance? Thing that makes me different from the rest is I am tea total; yep that's right, I won't be drinking my way out of the pain. However I have a feeling that the rest of the gang are trying to change all this; no chance! As my friends would tell you, it's easier to climb the three highest peaks in the UK then to get me to drink an alcoholic beverage (which is handy)! I will be training very seriously. Already I play 5-a-side football once and karate twice a week. I thought a training schedule consisting of a diet; gym, tennis, white water rafting and bungee jumping would be appropriate. Though possibly just a few practice walks in the Peak District starting January would be just as good! Wish me luck! |
