Introduction	1984 is a stand-alone short story. In 1984 I was living in a remote community in central Australia. The Sunflower and other tales is a collection of seventeen interconnected heartfelt and humorous tales. I have lived the best part of my life in the suburbs of sprawling Australian cities; my stories mostly have urban settings. Having said that, as a camper and traveller, I enjoy heading away from town when the opportunity arises. Some of these stories will take you off the beaten track and into places rarely visited.
