| Introduction | My stones have witnessed more than 600 years of Scottish history and I’ve got a great story to share with you. Some say I’m the most haunted castle in Scotland and it’s widely acknowledged that Shakespeare had me in mind when he was looking for the setting for the murder of King Duncan in his famous play ‘Macbeth’. I have a much softer past, as well though. I’m the birthplace of HRH The Princess Margaret and the childhood home of HM Queen Elizabeth The Queen Mother. Today I’m lived in by the Strathmore family and I welcome the thousands of visitors who come to see me each year. |
