| Introduction | I have always had an interest in art from an early age. This flourished in the 80's when I studied at the Victorian Artists Society and Mildura TAFE to name a couple. I studied watercolour briefly, drawing, life drawing, pastels and Oils on canvas. After a few years raising a family, travelling the globe by motorbike, I finally settled down and discovered Scratchboard Art. It's a new concept for me and I am currently being guided and taught by Janice Timmins at Traralgon Neighbourd House. We are very fortunate to have her here as there are very few people in Australia trained in the USA to teach this medium. I have completed about 6 etchings to date but am hoping to complete a few more in the future and will add them when they are finished. Still got to keep up with the house duties (although I have managed to get wonderful hubbie Brian to take over a lot of this so that I can SCRATCH!) Scratchboard Art is very popular in the USA. Checout WETCANVAS for some great examples. I am hoping this will raise awareness of the art here in Australia. |
