| Introduction | Meghan Seehorn graduated from Appalachian State University in 2008 with a BFA in Ceramics and Painting. Originally from Lincoln County, she learned to appreciate art through the many local ‘folk’ potters and feels a deep connection working with clay. She fell in love with the texture of clay through working in the family garden and that child-like joy of 'playing in the mud' has never left her. Ms. Seehorn's sculpture is often figurative and narrative. She cites such influences as Paula Smith, Lisa Clague, and Melisa Cadell. Her love of nature inspires her surfaces and firing techniques. She has shown her work at the Nth Gallery in Boone and the A.R.M. Gallery in Concord. She currently resides in Lowesville, NC where she works in her outdoor studio on her late grandfather's land. |
