Introduction	Forty years ago this summer, a couple of teachers moved crosscountry to Northeast Portland and bought a house across from Alberta Park. They raised me and my sister in that house, where our mother lives today. I went to Vernon, Catlin, Lincoln and Oberlin. I left Portland after high school and moved back 20 years later. I still feel new to living here as an adult. “La Vida Portlandia” is how I describe the Portland that is so proud of itself, its every lifestyle detail. This blog is trying to pay attention to mi vida Portlandia—the Portland of my actual past and present.
