| Introduction | I began to do figurative sculpture in 1996. I took a class from Peter Lupori at the Northern Clay Center on Franklin Avenue in Minneapolis, Minnesota. For years I had had the idea that I "knew" how to create a face in clay. When I got my hands on clay I tested myself and found that I DID know how to shape the nose, the ears, the shape of the head. I have been perfecting my understanding of how the face work ever since. Capturing a mood or a personality is what I love to do. |
