Introduction My family and I came to the U.S. in January of 1989 as refugees escaping a civil war in El Salvador. My whole life since coming to this country has become a simultaneous act of survival and discovery. I do what I do to feed myself, first and foremost, and secondly to learn more about the world around me. I’m beginning to see the type of man and artist this lifestyle has made of me, which is why I was compelled to create a platform to share my work. I use many mediums, none of which I am super duper skilled at but I like dabbling in a little bit of everything. I believe there’s magic created in the collective effort: whether by using pictures to enhance the message of a poem or by bringing communities together in solidarity to take a stand. My dream is to bridge my art with my activism one day and this is where I’m starting. About me personally; I’m a huge dork, I love laughing, I love food, I love to dance, sometimes sing, and I also love my body, which I try my earnest to take good care of. I take pride in my being and work hard to exude that but at the end of the day I’m just human and I fuck up every now and again.

Favorite Movies Anything that awakens my revolutionary spirit, my inquisitive mind, the 13yearold girl or the hoodrat in me; Salt of the Earth, Mean Girls, Motorcycle Diaries, B.A.P.S., Dave Chapelle's Block Party, Breakfast at Tiffany's, Coming to America, Don't Be A Menace, Quinceañera, I heart Huckabees
Favorite Music Real music is heard across ALL generations: from Etta James to Madonna; Dave Brubeck to Pink Floyd; Journey to A Tribe Called Quest; Boleros to Dancehall to Disco...as long as it's got soul!
Favorite Books I'm working on refining my literary interests. I typically only read if I feel I have something personally vested in it. Whether it be learning my people's hxstory and cultura (Borderlands, Dying to Cross, Cosmic Serpent) or escaping the present moment into a world of fantasy or romance (James Earl Hardy!)
