About me

Introduction I am presently Chairperson of Madura Micro Finance, which as the name suggests, is at its core a microfinance company in India. However, Madura goes beyond microfinance and is an evolving social experiment in reconfiguring human networks through the vehicle of a for-profit company. In addition to my work at Madura I am also presently a visiting scientist at the National Centre for Biological Sciences in Bangalore where I work on how distributed electrical activity in the brain can give rise to perception. I have a BA in Math from Brandeis University, an MBA from the Kellogg School of Management and a PhD in Neuroscience from Stanford University. The goal of this blog is to seed dialogue across fields to bring decades of thinking in physics, biology and nonlinear dynamics to solve one of our biggest human problems - poverty.
