| Introduction | My husband and I bought this property in 1971 and have been working on it ever since. When we bought the property there were a few weed trees, and oak, a maple, 2 pear trees,an ash, a hemlock and a small apsen/alder/ash woods in the rear. The trees were in bad shape and all but the oak and maple died during the first few years we were here. We planted everything else that you see on the property in this blog except a few bird planted trees and plants and some of the woods was allowed to spread on its own, which doubled in size. The woods did get pulped off many years ago but has grown back quite well from roots and seeds in the soil. My goal for the property is to establish food forests (which I'll explain in the blog). My husband has been disable from accidents since 1985 and I have to do most of the work. I had a previous blog but was unable to keep it open but I will put a link to it here so you can see earlier photos of the property where we were at that time. www.restfultrailsfoodforestgarden.blogspot.com |
