| Introduction | Set aside her long-term teaching profession several years ago to pursue her dream of writing a novel. Her second one is now published. With a degree in English/Secondary Education, she has taught HS English, including AP British Literature, college freshman English, as well as related subjects. Over the years, further pursuits have included editor/writer for Christian and secular publications, office administrator, and police officer. Raised in a military family, she has lived in France and Germany, beginning her schooling in a French Catholic school and becoming fluent in French in the process. While touring Europe on camping trips, the family enjoyed interacting and sharing meals with friendly Europeans along the way. Having also lived in a number of U.S. states, Alaska was her favorite of all. Mavis has also presented workshops at Christian education conferences, taught Sunday School and Bible classes ranging from first grade to adult women, and spoken to Christian women's groups. She now teaches high school English online to students across the USA and several foreign countries. |
