| Introduction | Since being diagnosed with breast cancer at 26 in February 2008, my whole life has changed. Cancer not only penetrates the physical being, but affects everything from your personal confidence, self belief, your relationships with others and with yourself. You have to learn about a whole new body, how to recognise 'normal' signs and when to worry about cancer returning. It has also changed my spiritual and religious beliefs, from a casual believer in God to wanting to pray and seeks answers, guidance and strength from my new belief. Cancer has also strengthened my will to live and be happy and get up with a purpose and sense of belief in myself each day. Inevitably, my relationships have changed, mainly in the positive where I have found the most amazing and loyal of family to provide the support, encouragement and inspiration to go on. I have also learned to tolerate less crap and not be too worried about how others view me and what people may think of me.... going out with a bald head helps you get over that!!! |
| Interests | Raising awareness of breast cancer in younger women. Reading, studying, shopping, spending time with family and friends,and holidays - all with my husband and generally spending our hard earned cash! |
