| Introduction | Lindsay Purves is an MFA candidate in fiction writing at the University of Memphis. She received her BA in English from Trinity University in 2007 and also has studied Italian in Perugia, Italy. Purves has a forthcoming interview with Pulitzer Prize winner Elizabeth Strout in Glimmer Train. She currently serves as the contest coordinator for The Pinch, an award-winning literary journal, and previously served as the art director. Purves has lived all over Texas, loves vintage cowboy boots, and relives the disappointment of being a Houston Astros fan every baseball season. Purves now lives in a Memphis high-rise overlooking the Mississippi River with her black cat, Stella. She is finishing her novel about the life of a modern Texas oilman, his illegitimate children, and two women who can’t get him out of their lives. |
