| Introduction | Whales and Dolphins BC Sighting Reports were started by Susan MacKay in early 2010 out of her passion for whale watching and nature along the BC coast. Making this information available to the public became a priority both for raising awareness and appreciation of our wildlife and marine ecosystems. Through the support and encouragement from readers and University contacts, Susan founded and formed the volunteer driven non-profit Wild Ocean Whale Society (WOWs), incorporated under the Society Act of British Columbia, which continues to operate under the name Whales and Dolphins BC. Our Whales and Dolphins BC web site has information on identifying species, terminology in layman's terms, Donation page, and much more. It is through your ongoing support and sightings information we continue to grow and create enthusiasm for our global environment and the animals in our waters. We encourage reporting of your whale, dolphin or porpoise sightings to share and add to our database by emailing or calling us through the posted contacts.
