| Introduction | What is Inner Mind? Inner Mind is a quarterly newsletter originally set up in Macclesfield, UK, by professionals and service users to raise awareness of, and challenge the stigma attached to, mental illness. The first issue included articles by service providers. It provided information and a ‘What’s On’ guide offering leisure or educational activities available within East Cheshire. The second issue allowed service users a ‘free hand’ in the content. We have already received correspondence, mainly poems and experiences both personal (living with mental illness) and social (activities offered by social professionals). As the fourth (winter 2007) issue is ready for publication, we are expanding by going online in the form of this Blog. It will contain the articles featured in the newsletter, but with less restriction on space will hopefully feature more in-depth articles and more service user contributions and comments. |
